Still no progress on the web site as the search function is proving to be a problem. There are so many things involved in the search function which make it difficult to implement. Not least is the issue of the boys’ names being abbreviated in various formats. A boy called Frederick, for example, could be noted as Fred, Fdk, Frederik, Fredk or Fd in the actual school register. To maintain the accuracy of the transcription work, all names have been kept as they were originally written in the registers. Hence a simple search from Fred Smith, necessitates six permutations of forenames!
